The AG 3100 is deployed at the venue supporting from 100 to 200 simultaneous users in a broadband-enabled environment and offers several NSE Module and User Count Upgrades so it can grow as your network and users change. The Gateway is a dedicated network appliance providing maximum uptime and reliability unlike competitive offerings that are server-based that can be plagued with long reboot and set up times or run Operating Systems that are susceptible to virus attacks.
The AG 3100 is a 1U high device that employs one fast Ethernet port to interface with the router (network side) and two fast Ethernet switch ports to interface with the aggregation equipment (subscriber side) within the HotSpot. Additionally, the Gateway works with a centralized provisioning system to provide a problem free service to the end user, while providing a cost-effective solution that can enable a variety of billing models and interface to a provider's infrastructure.
ACCESS CONTROL:
Allows access to a pre-determined “Walled Garden” area of the Internet prior to authentication while providing an additional layer of security in the network by blocking access to the Internet until the user has been authenticated
MANAGEMENT:
Includes IPSec client for secure remote management and built-in Web Management Interface and CLI where various levels of administration can be set along with extensive SNMP support. Remotely manage a large number of devices using standards-based tools, keeping the cost of deployment and maintenance down
BILLING ENABLEMENT:
Supports a wide variety of
billing models using credit
cards, scratch cards or
monthly subscriptions – then
bill by time, volume or
bandwidth
Public Access Service
Operators (PASOs) can
generate revenue at every
touchpoint with the user –
before, during, and after
the connectivity purchase as
well as support roaming
users
ADVANCED SECURITY:
Patent-pending iNAT
functionality offers
unmatched VPN support
Session Rate Limiting (SRL)
and MAC filtering
capabilities significantly
reduce the risks of Denial
of Service (DoS) attacks
protecting the very edge of
the network
Supports Lawful Intercept
Tracking Logs
QUALITY OF SERVICE MODULE (QoS):
NEW!
The Nomadix Quality of
Service (QoS) module adds
the ability to classify and
mark traffic based on single
or multiple traffic
characteristics, such as
source/destination
addresses, protocol
transport types, port
values, or some combination
of these through an 802.1p
class-of-service (CoS)
method. This allows for
frames to be marked with one
of eight priority levels
(0-7). The unit can mark
traffic based on
traffic-matching algorithms
that are applied through
internally configured
policies, as well as pass
previously marked packets
through the unit, and can
also perform a combination
of both approaches.
This allows other 802.1p
aware devices (such as
switches) to then leverage
this marking and thus
provide traffic
prioritization services on
both the subscriber and
network sides of the NSE,
thus enhancing control of
network throughput and
providing more optimal
management of time and delay
sensitive traffic.
Since 802.1p priority bits
are contained within 802.1q
VLAN tags, 802.1q capability
must be enabled on the unit
and on the network in order
for the QoS features to be
utilized. Also, 802.1p
marking is the only QoS
capability that is supported
in the initial release of
the module. Internal traffic
prioritization, as well as
other overall QoS
methodologies (such as
DiffServ), are not included
at this time. QoS will only
be available on wired NSE
platforms and limits the
maximum optional user count
by half; for the AG 3100
this limit is 100; for the
AG 5500 this limit is 1000.
CREDIT CARD MODULE: NEW!
The Nomadix Credit Card module enables payment for access services to be billed directly to a subscriber’s credit card account through the use of a credit card merchant account authentication service. When logging on, subscribers are prompted for their credit card information. Once the information has been verified and accepted, users are granted access to the services offered. In addition, the Nomadix Bill Record Mirroring service provides a backup means of monitoring billing transactions for additional reliability in record keeping.
The Credit Card module can be used alone to provide a direct means of customer billing without the need of an on-site billing system, or can be used in conjunction with other Nomadix billing methodologies (such as PMS or RADIUS accounting) to provide flexible options through which payment for services can be managed.
The Credit Card and Bill Record Mirroring features are supported on all Nomadix platforms and can be used in combination with any or all of the other billing methods supported. NSE has worked with Authorize.net, Chain Fusion, E-xact and Internet Secure credit card service providers.
