RV Park WiFi Hotspot Equipment
GNS Wireless offers a number of pre-packaged RV Park Wireless Solutions. As one of the top WiFi equipment providers, GNS Wireless will supply you with all the supplies you need in order to open or create a Wireless Hotspot at your RV Park, Campground, or Marina. The wifi hotspot equipment can be pre-configured for ease of installation, and can be pre-configured for "out of the box" installation at your location. Residential grade wifi antennas should not be used in most RV Parks. The low power, inability to send the WiFi signal a long distance and penetrate the RVs and trailers in the park result in a poor wireless network for guests. We recommend outdoor, high power, high quality access points that have been proven to be reliable for both our installations, and resellers alike. If your RV Park requires an overhaul, or basic upgrade of the existing wifi hotspot equipment, please contact us today. If you require a custom network solution, please contact GNS Wireless today.
Campground WiFi
The objective of a Campground Wireless hotspot equipment package is to provide your campground with a strong, reliable signal, that reaches the perimeter of your park. High power 802.11N, or 802.11AC WiFi access points are used, in specific areas in order to provide the customer, using their WiFi enabled devices found in notebook computers, PDAs, and smartphones, Ipad WiFi, WiFi phones and other WiFi enabled devices, with a reliable connection to the internet. Once the wireless network hotspot equipment is installed, the campground now has the option to provide a free complimentary service or an optional paid Wi-Fi service to give your customers who visit the campground options of connecting to the wireless network. Recently, Campground WiFi networks do not charge customers for WiFi access, as this service has become expected when staying at a campground. If you do choose to charge for internet access, an optional hotspot gateway can be added to the network at anytime, and GNS Wireless can assist in configuration and installation. Please contact us at 877-209-5152 from more information about our campground WiFi systems.
Marina WiFi
The Marina WiFi hotspot packages are specific to the size of the marina, and number of users who will be accessing the network. Our pre-packaged wifi hotspot equipment bundles are meant to be the starting point for your marina wireless network. The best approach when designing, or upgrading to a more powerful, or more commercial wifi equipment package would be to contact us directly, so that we can look at the overview of your Marina, and recommend exactly what package works best for you. We can provide custom layouts, detailed wiring schematics, and can estimate where the signal will be the strongest in your Marina. The wifi hotspot business model in the Marinas is growing rapidly. Your wireless network should be using the latest 802.11N, and 802.11AC outdoor wireless access points for the best signal and internet speed to guests. A popular package for broadcasting a strong wireless signal out the Marina, is the GNS-1585. Please contact GNS Wireless at 877-209-5152 for more information on a custom wifi hotspot package that meets the needs of your Marina, or browse our packages below.
Wi-Fi hotspot equipment considerations:
- Do you currently have a Internet connection available? (DSL/Cable/Satellite)
- What Internet speeds are available?
- How many consecutive users will be on the wireless network at any given time?
- What coverage am I trying to achieve? – Partial area, or entire park/marina
- How do I control bandwidth?
- What equipment do I need for a hotspot? – Complete package/Self install
- Is technical support included?
- Will trees reduce the signal in my campground wireless network?
- How can I extend the wireless signal beyond the main office into the RV Park?
- Can I cover the entire Marina with Wi-Fi signal?
- Is it better to use 802.11N or 802.11AC for outdoor wireless?
- Can I use a wireless repeater to expand the wireless network coverage area?
GNS Wireless offers complete systems for both DIY's and enterprise city-wide hotspot solutions. We not only sell commercial WiFi equipment but offer sales and support before/during and after the installation. Our technical support staff is familiar with all wifi hotspot equipment products. Will adding a high power amplifier boost my Wi-Fi?
The answer to that question depends on distance, line of sight, and what type of application you are attempting to cover with Wifi. Improving the signal strength for end users in an RV Park, or Campground will help with speed and reliability. Adding a high power amplifier, or high power access point will generally result in better wifi performance. By accurately identifying what your current signal strength is and by doing a few simple tests in and around the area where you use your device, you will be able to predict whether an antenna or amplifier will improve your device's performance before you order wifi equipment.
The testing we recommend in order to determine whether signal-boosting equipment is appropriate for you is called a "site survey" and involves comparing your signal strength and performance in a few different locations. Do a quick walk around, and observe locations that have more obstructions, are further away from the main office, or areas that you know will have high usage amounts. Doing a site survey is easy - just follow the steps below:
- What is the signal strength at various locations?
- At those locations, what are your speedtest results?
- What is the best signal you could find immediately outside the main office?
- What is the furthest distance you need to provide Wi-Fi?
- Do you have trees, physical land, obstructions such as RV's, or other obstructions in the way?
- Do you have power available at various locations?
Once you determine the location of the strongest and weakest signal, contact GNS Wireless and we will assist in sorting through the results. In most instances, a high power access point, combined with either a omni-directional antenna, or sectorized panel antenna will greatly improve the coverage area of your wireless network. Our technicians can help you determine which wireless network product will be the correct choice for your upgraded hotspot antenna.
