Description
500 Mbps Point to Point Wireless LAN Bridge.
*NEW* Low-cost, high throughput, 500Mbps, wireless bridge point to point radio using 802.11AC technology. These radios are a great option for medium to long range point to point building to building wireless. Capable of 500Mbps throughput, this 802.11AC point to point bridge can serve less bandwidth hungry areas easily. Share remote Internet connections, files, video, voice, and application servers with minimal latency and maximum uptime.
Please note: The 23dBi Dish antennas included in the package are only 12″ round, and very light weight at only 7 lbs. They can be mounted easily using the GNS-1433 universal mounting arm, or onto a standard 1 1/4 to 3″ mast. Contact us for more information.

This building to building high speed wireless bridge is pre-configured and paired to each other, for “out of the box” installation and operation. External Signal LED’s will assist with alignment and troubleshooting procedures. Maximum cat5e cable to be used on each end is 250ft. (Shielded cat5e is recommended). 1 year warranty includes technical support from GNS Wireless.
Installation:
This complete 802.11AC point to point bridge ships pre-configured for “out of the box” installation. No configuration is required. Web based management allows for adjustment of transmit power, wireless security type, signal strength/signal noise reading, and real time throughput estimates. POE, PS, and pole mount hardware is included in the kit. Any 1-2″ diameter mast/pole, will allow you to mount the antennas. If you require additional mounting hardware for your building to building wireless bridge, please let us know.
Wireless Backhaul:
This 802.11AC Point to Point Wireless Bridge includes a pair of outdoor wireless bridge radios, that utilize an external 23dBi dish antenna. When the outdoor radios are installed at each location, they operates as a transparent wireless bridge, and will pass all network traffic between your two locations. The high-speed wireless network bridge operates similar to an invisible Ethernet cable connecting your two locations. Each antenna has a beam width of about 10°, so aligning the antennas is easy. Furthermore, you will have the ability to view real time signal strength, link quality, and noise level, using the web based configuration. Each AP has a static IP address, used strictly for web based configuration, and troubleshooting. VLAN tagging and DHCP will be passed over this bridge without the need of any additional configuration. Voice and Data traffic will flow seamlessly over the wireless bridge.
This ubiquiti wireless bridge operates at the full 5GHz frequency band. This allows multiple point to point links to be installed on the same pole, without interference between them. The radios cover the entire, license-free, 5 GHz spectrum and includes DFS approval. This means anyone around the world can deploy and operate the 802.11AC point to point bridge in the 5 GHz range practically anywhere they choose (subject to local country regulations).
Connection to Network:
To connect the bridge radio to your network at each location, a single Cat5 Ethernet cable is used. A 50ft. cable is included for each location. (If you need more cable, a maximum length of up to 250ft. can be used) The Cat5e Ethernet cable connects directly from the outdoor access point using a weatherproof grommet (included), to an indoor POE (Power-over-Ethernet) injector. The POE injector plugs into a standard AC outlet for power, and another Cat5 Ethernet cable connects from the POE injector to your network (Router/PC/Switch etc.)
At the MAIN location, you will typically connect to an open LAN port on the back of your existing router, or switch. At the REMOTE location, you can connect either directly to a PC if you only have a single computer, or you can connect to an indoor wired/wireless router. This will allow you to run multiple computers over the wireless bridge.
Maximum Range & Interference:
Channel width flexibility (10/20/30/40/50 MHz) allows independent TX and RX channel frequency configurations virtually anywhere within the radio band to avoid local interference, and the channel centers are selectable in 1 MHz increments. You also have the ability to program different uplink and downlink duty cycles to support asymmetric traffic requirements. Maximum range with the included 23dBi dish antennas is typically about 3-5 miles for maximum speed. Although this setup can be pushed for further distance, speed will vary based on your application, external interference and environmental factors. To acheive the full 500Mbps datarate, maximum distance should be 3 miles or less with clear, unobstructed line of sight.
For applications that require transfer of very large files, video transmission, or large amounts VoIP (Voice over IP) traffic (20 or greater), it is recommended that you choose a FULL DUPLEX, 5GHz Point to Point link, which will not only avoid all 2.4GHz interference, but offer much faster throughput, higher packets per second (PPS) and lower jitter rates. A full duplex, Point to Point Wireless Bridge will also offer lower latency, which increases performance. For distances less then 3 miles, please ask us about the LIGOPTP-PRO, full duplex point to point link.
Security Features:
This ubiquiti wireless bridge kit operates as a transparent bridge. It is similar to an invisible Ethernet cable connecting your two locations. It includes multiple security options including WEP/WPA/WPA2. It also has ability to enable MAC address authentication so that only the two access points are able communicate. You can hide the network SSID, and because the beam width of the antennas is directional, (about 14°) the signal is not being broadcasted in all directions, only in the direction you aim the outdoor antenna. If you have any other questions, please contact our Pre-Sales/Technical Support Dept. at (516) 214-0321.
Power Over Ethernet:
The secure high speed building to building wifi bridge includes a 24V, 1A POE Gigabit Adapter for each radio. The Passive power over Ethernet injector will supply both power and data to the outdoor access point using a single cat5e ethernet cable. Maximum power consumption is 15W per access point.
